Subsidized Internet Program Missing link for application - FRII

bridger vasquez 9 months ago in Website (larimer.org) updated by Gregg Turnbull 6 months ago 3

Is FRII no longer in the Subsidized Internet Program? They told me to apply, and sent me a link:

That link only sends me to a sign in to a "My Account" page:
If I try to create an account, I get an error page:

ERROR  The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.

There is no link for FRII on the page listing links for the Larimer Subsidized Internet Programs:

The link provided by FRII is outdated. The application form has been disabled. I'm seeking additional information about why the form was disabled and will share when I find out.

I have been waiting for an answer for 3 months now. Can't you find out if it is a website link problem, or if FRII is no longer in the Subsidized Internet Program? I would like to get Internet Service. I live in the Devil's backbone area and I believe that FRII was the only ISP in the program with service out here. Do you know of any other?

Hello and very sorry for the delay.

FRII communications is no longer part of the subsidized internet program, and in fact is shuttering by the end of the year: https://www.coloradoan.com/story/news/2022/09/10/fort-collins-internet-provider-front-range-internet-to-shut-down/68046072007/

Many companies are now leveraging federal grants to provide subsidized internet to end users, some listed at https://www.larimer.gov/broadband/subsidized-internet-program
